...On the video, obtained by The Associated Press, a supervisor tells an undercover investigator for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals that when he gets angry or a sow won't move, "I grab one of these rods and jam it in her [anus]."
...He encourages the investigator to pretend that one of the pigs scared off a voluptuous and willing 17- or 18-year-old girl, and then beat the pig for it.
...At one point in the video, workers are shown slamming piglets on the ground, a practice designed to instantly kill those baby pigs that aren't healthy enough. But on the video, the piglets are not killed instantly, and in a bloodied pile, some piglets can be seen wiggling vainly. The video also shows piglets being castrated, and having their tails cut off, without anesthesia.
..."So many times, it took all of my willpower not to step up and do something," he said, adding that he also saw the supervisor shove a cane into a sow's vagina. "I was just shocked. What do you say to that?"

| this morning i had a lovely 9 mile bike ride to the tunes of mirah to the notary office and personally witnessed two same sex couples getting married. in total there were about 50 (edit: the offical count is 63) that took place in fresno today. it was a beautiful thing, truly touching. i cant really describe it. | | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| | ive been doing so much thinking about animals, veganism, vegetarianism, peoples opinions of these things, and a lot of other stuff along these lines. it was set off by a part of the documentary i saw, the witness, when he talks about a time in his life when he was cornered and beaten and left for dead, and how no one helped him, and the feeling of fear, helplessness that he had. he was saying that he didnt want anything to ever feel that way. it really hit home to me that these intense feelings that we as humans experience in the face of danger/death, are no different than the ones animals face! and you know what, im going to do anything i can to prevent even one animal from feeling that way. | | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
